Who Am I? ...(1)

..Screams fly across the room...She moans, she groans, she yells, she begins to swim in a pool of momentary regrets..these thoughts suddenly dissipate as she hears the shrill cry of another...Tears roll down her cheeks as she beholds the miracle she brought forth...

..The child is named..

First an infant, then a toddler - by this stage, every child begins to develop a personality of their own..

Thereafter, we go through life following the norms, depending upon what your immediate surroundings dictate to you.Until at some point, you begin to ask, 'Who Am I?, Why am I here?,....These questions are often not verbalized. More often than not, we embark on a journey of self-discovery by taking up hobbies, interests, investing more time and money into education,etc..

Although these activities fill our time and keep us from living lives plagued by boredom, there still remains a void within us that cannot be filled by drugs, sex, titles, money or sports, among others..

So, the question still remains - What defines me? Who Am I?

They say we are creatures made by God to fellowship with Him...

So, how do we reconcile the deep longing in our hearts with the fact that, we were created by an unseen God for His pleasure?

What we see through scripture (Jeremiah 1 : 5, Psalm 139 : 13-18) is the work of the greatest artist as demonstrated in Genesis, when God decides to make man in his own image. He didn't stop at giving man his form, he went ahead and breathed LIFE into Him.

God through Jesus, defines himself as LIFE*.Meaning that, when you were born, God breathed himself into you!! What you meant to communicate to the world at birth when you let out that cry, was, "God's in me." God gives us free will to choose which way we want to live but because you carry His form and His breath, nothing will fill you up like He does!

Ok, so Adam and Eve's bodies were the templates God used in forming our outer bodies, so much so that when He came to earth, he came just like us! - In human form!

What's fascinating is the variations he makes in the innermost parts of everyone. So that, you are so unique that, nobody can do what you do, the way you do and vice-versa. When God breathed into us, He breathed the ability to do ALL things.**

Functioning in the gifts and abilities God has bestowed on us plays a big role in defining us. It is the very essence of why we were made - To give Glory to God. Everytime you use your gift positively, you praise Him - its like indirectly saying, like MaryMary, "Its The God in Me!!"

Like humans need trees for oxygen, we need each other's gifts. When God gives you a gift, He also creates a need for it, to make YOU relevant! Have you found yours?

So,in effect, we are the breath of God! Can you run with what God has placed within you? Can you run with what He has said about you?*** You are a priest and a king/queen!! Place your stamp on the world!!

Finally, If you are God's breath, what do you take in? and what comes out of you? (FFT)

...You're of royal descent, Don't contaminate your blood!!! *wink*

**Phillipians 4 : 13
***Revelation 1 : 5-6

The 'Who Am I?' Series...

..Sometimes, what may be considered to be the simplest of questions turns out to be the hardest one to find an answer to...

For many people, there is a stark contrast between the answer they will give to the question, 'Who are you?' and the answer they will give to themselves when they look in the mirror and ask, 'Who Am I?'

..We are not defined by possessions, people, places or titles...

Over the next couple of weeks, we will take an interesting trip...Our destination? Self-discovery!! To get there, we'll explore the pages of the world's best navigator - The Bible! Through God's eyes, I pray that you will be able to visualize yourself in a whole new light - that you'll become all that you were destined to be...

Where you realise that,...

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, “Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?” Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There's nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we're liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." -- Marianne Williamson

Prelude...

"My life is so boring, I need some spice , a different experience..I need something that'll excite my senses, something that'll give me a kick...".. These words form part of the thought processes of many young people today.

Or sometimes its, "I wish my life could just end right now..Nothing's working, Is this what life is all about? If it is, then I'd rather be dead.."..Whatever the case may be, each person will find themselves mirrored in either of the above statements or will just accept their lives for what they are and wade through a river of mediocrity for the rest of their lives.

Through this blog, I seek to incite a passion for life in every reader. I seek to set your dreams and visions that you think impossible, ablaze..If you haven't ever dared to dream, then its time to seize your moment!

Through the game of chess, I see different types of people characterised by the function of each piece on the chess board. The rooks, bishops, kings, queens, knights and even the mere pawns all represent people from all walks of life. The blog is titled Knights & Queens because it represents all that we SHOULD be.

For the Ladies, as Queens, you wield so much power..yet are humble enough to relinquish some of that power so your Knights can step in and save the day. In so doing, your beauty shines even brighter , you exude wisdom and your gait is full of grace.

For the Gentlemen, as Knights, you are the epitome of a warrior who fights for a just cause. For you, your just cause is to defend all that has been entrusted to you, including your Queen.

Queen Esther & King David (who was first, a warrior), of Biblical times will be the canvas on which we will paint today's Knights and Queens.

As you read, at a time when our entire generation seems to be confused on a number of issues including sex and sexuality, may you be inspired to be all that you were made to be....

That You'll Rise Up and take Your Place!

Queens, take your thrones...Knights,draw your swords, the world's waiting for you!!
